"Dorian Michael is one of my favorite
guitar players. He plays acoustic and electric guitar with equal
skill and finesse, and he plays them with a passion that is thrilling
to watch and a joy to hear. We've had some great moments in the
recording studio, some of which can be heard on my forthcoming
album, "Every Man I Love Is Either Married, Gay, or Dead."
If you appreciate superb instrumental guitar music, do yourself
a favor and wrap your ears around a copy of Dorian's CD, "The
Way We Dance." ---Kacey Jones
Dorian Michael has studied and worked with
nearly every guitar style except flamenco (never wanting to play
quite that fast). he graduated with a degree in composition and
then proceeded to breathe air and cigarette smoke in most of
the saloons and honky-tonks in Southern California, and has played
more than his share of gloomy theater orchestra pits.
Throughout, he has maintained a fondness for
fingerstyle acoustic guitar and has a repertoire of original
instrumental pieces that, these days, is the focus of his activities.
The influences of his previous varied work experience all come
through in his original material. It is contemporary music that
grows from, rather than mimics those influences.
