Alan Rhody's music is the culmination
of a life of traveling and staying true to one's beliefs and
to one's art. He has spent two and a half decades writing and
singing with the passion of someone who is not only highly gifted
but who is also driven to create. In the process, he has built
a devoted following, while having his poignant ballads, picturesque
narratives and gutsy rockers recorded by a who's who of country-pop,
folk, and bluegrass.
His new CD, "journey", his sixth is a long-awaited
event for the loyal and an extraordinary introduction for the
uniniated. Showcasing his new material as well as reprising some
early jewels, the disc also features guest appearances by John
Prine, the late John Hartford, Maura O'Connell,
Pat McLaughlin, Jamie Hartford, and David
Schnaufer. The depth of the writing and the simple but extremely
effective production shows why Rhody has won the respect of such
people in a world where non-pretense is a rarity.

"His melodies will wander
around in your brain for days on end. His lyrics will touch the
deepest corners of your spirit. Alan Rhody songs are keepsakes,
not disposable tissues. They're things to return to for pleasure
time and again, and these are among the very finest of his career."
- Robert K. Oermann, author/journalist/historian
